General Information

High School Summer School will meet at Agoura High School. Classes offered by the LVEF adhere to the same curriculum and receive the same credit as those offered by the Las Virgenes Unified School District during the regular school year. Tuition is $550 for one six-week, ten-credit class or two three-week, five-credit classes, and $400 for a five-credit class, unless noted differently below. All fees must be paid at the time of registration. Current Las Virgenes students may apply beginning April 12. Students from outside of the District may apply beginning April 22.

Students enrolling in High School Summer School will be able to choose for-credit classes for acceleration and/or remediation. Students currently in grades 8-12 are eligible to enroll in High School Summer School. (Students in grade 8 may also choose to enroll in Middle School Summer School.)

Acceleration

Acceleration means that the student meets the stated prerequisites and wishes to challenge entirely new material to move forward with his/her high school career. Students wishing to register for acceleration must enroll in both semesters of their desired class, unless the class is a one-semester class. The price for all two-semester classes except Chemistry is $550, plus a materials fee, if any. Tuition for Chemistry is $625. One-semester classes have a tuition fee of $400.

Remediation

Remediation means that the student has already received a “D” or “F” grade in a semester of the requested class. Students who require remediation may enroll in one or both semesters as indicated in order to make up one or two "D" or "F" grades. It is possible to enroll in two one-semester remedial classes from different disciplines (i.e. English I during Semester 1 and US History during Semester 2) OR two semesters of the same class (i.e. English II both semesters) OR a single semester of a class if that is all that is needed (Algebra I during Semester 2 only). Students may also choose to enroll in one semester of a remedial class and a one-semester enrichment course. The fee for any two classes (Semester 1 and Semester 2) not including Chemistry is $550, plus materials fees, if any. Students enrolling in only one semester will be charged $400 tuition plus half of the materials fee, if any. Tuition for both semesters of Chemistry is $625; for one semester, $440. Students requiring one semester of Chemistry and one semester of any other class will be charged $600, plus half of any applicable materials fee.

Please note that all classes are contingent on sufficient enrollment.
